Ronnie Ronnie stands alone as a unique type of artist; he’s a songwriter, a rapper, a singer and a producer wrapped up in one, and really sets the pace for his own type of genre. MEAN is Ronnie’s first full-length project in six years, which is an introduction to “Ronnie Ronnie the artist”, not only for us listeners, but for Ronnie himself. MEAN showcases a talent that Ronnie has not only for songwriting, but for creativity and remaining cohesive and conceptual. Mixes of genre paired with funky, fresh beats give us a whole new frame of reference for Chicago music – especially hip hop and R&B. The full-length EP tells us the full story of the love spectrum, from falling for a girl and being in awe, to the frustrations that come right along with infatuation.
Though MEAN is Ronnie Ronnie’s first project in some years, he certainly doesn’t plan to let up anytime soon. While this project serves as a journey to Ronnie’s self-discovery and finding his sound, it is the milestone that marks the first of many quality hits to come from Ronnie’s vault.
