DMX’s recent attack on a prison guard was set off by the food that was served to him.
Reports surfaced earlier today (February 25) that the rapper attacked an Arizona prison guard but the reason behind it was not revealed.
Lisa Allen, a spokesman for Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, revealed to The Phoenix Times this afternoon that DMX threw a tray of food at the prison guard on Sunday (February 22).
DMX ended up in lockdown earlier this month after threatening prison guards.
Inmates in lockdown don’t get served the same kind of food as other inmates, they are given “Nutra-loaf,” which The Times described ‘as a gross slab of mystery food’.
Allen claims that when the prison guards were passing out the meals, DMX grabbed a tray of food that wasn’t his and when he was told to hand it back, he threw it at an officer and yelled “Fuck you!”
Allen said that despite the fact that DMX didn’t actually strike the prison guard, his actions against the guard are defined as assault.
DMX, who is currently serving a three month jail sentence for various felony charges, is now facing a charge of felony aggravated assault. If he is convicted of the charge, his probation could be revoked and he could be sentenced to 8 or more years in prison.
